HOW TO BE A GREAT ROOM PARENT

Room parents will work directly with their respective teachers to determine individual classroom needs i.e., scheduling classroom volunteer time and coordinating take-home prep work.

Attendance at FOI meetings and the bi-annual CPIE mixer is a critical part of being a room parent. This facilitates more effective communication between parents, classrooms and FOI.

Being an informed room parent assures that helping to organize and facilitate school events, happens in a timely fashion.

Room parents will work with CPIE during the Pledge of Excellence, the most critical, ongoing fundraising event at Ivanhoe. We strive for 100% participation in this drive for meeting our financial goals, and room parent involvement can help insure this happens.
