What is CPIE?
CPIE is an informal, grassroots parent-awareness organization that arose in spring of 2007 in response to the news of the state education budget cuts.
Knowing that Ivanhoe would be directly affected, parents mobilized, spread the word, rallied in Sacramento and ultimately raised enough funds in 3 short months to save three critical coaching positions. When the budget is announced this spring, we can be certain that more cuts are imminent.
We are therefore committed to ongoing action to ensure that the quality of our children’s education is protected.

Who Is Friends of Ivanhoe?
Ivanhoe Elementary School has been providing a quality public education to Silver Lake children for more than 100 years, making it one of the city’s oldest and best public schools. Academically, it is among the highest-rated elementary schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District. With just 350 students and 16 teachers, we’re a small, tight-knit community school that reflects the diversity of the surrounding neighborhood.Friends of Ivanhoe (FOI) is a booster organization founded by parents in 1994 to help raise funds to provide our community’s children with the best education possible. It is an organization open to any Ivanhoe parent and community members.
Why We Fundraise
The mission of FOI is to facilitate raising money for programs and services that are otherwise not provided for. Ivanhoe has been and remains a high performing school and as such, does not qualify for Title I funds that typically benefit other schools. This puts the onus of fund raising for student fundamentals such as teacher aides, academic advisors, and the physical education program solely on the shoulders of FOI.

You can drop your forms into the FOI mailbox in the school office or mail them to the P.O. Box at the bottom of the form.
Can I pay online?
You can donate directly by using the donate button on the top right of this page. Since every penny counts Pay Pal charges 3% for the transaction, so a check would be better.
